Grant Scheme PDF Print E-mail
The aim of this grant scheme is to promote exchange between them and European researchers as well as to encourage contacts between institutions so that they may explore possibilities for joint participation in the European Commission’s Seventh Framework Programme for research and technological development (FP7).

To this end, the participation of Latin American researchers on specialized international conferences taking place in Europe and concerning the six priority areas [Health, Food, Agriculture and Biotechnology, Information and Communication Technology, Energy, Environment (including Climate Change), Economic Sciences, Social and Human Sciences] of the LAC-ACCESS project will be supported.

The participation on these conferences will provide an opportunity for the researchers to meet their European counterparts and seek cooperation or possible partners for their own projects. They will also allow Latin American researchers to make their institutions and/or their research networks known in Europe, for future projects.

Under this program, 30 researchers from Latin America will be selected. The grant provides partial funding which will cover either the costs of the trip (airline ticket) or the stay (hotel and travel allowances). The other part of the costs will have to be covered by the researchers or their institutions.

In order to maximize the benefits of their stay in Europe, a program of activities will be prepared jointly beforehand involving important meetings in the country where the conference will take place, such as, for example, with the coordinators of the respective research areas within the National Contact Points (NCPs).
